Authentication

Maersk Visibility Studio uses the OAuth 2.0 client credentials flow to secure and grant time-bound authentication to our API resources. For step-by-step instructions, refer to the Authorisation Guide.

Required credentials

Every request to the live API must include both of the following headers:

HeaderPurpose
Authorization: Bearer <token>OAuth 2.0 access token, time-bound, obtained from the Maersk Authorisation Server
Consumer-Key: <your-consumer-key>API key assigned to your App in the Maersk Developer Portal, used to authenticate and authorize every call

Getting an access token

Obtain a Bearer token from the Maersk Authorisation Server using the OAuth 2.0 client credentials flow before making any API calls. See the Authorisation Guide for the token endpoint and full request/response details.

Using the token

Include the Bearer token and your Consumer Key in the headers of every request:

Authorization: Bearer <token>
Consumer-Key: <your-consumer-key>

Testing without credentials

No account, token, or Consumer Key is required to try the API in the docs — use the Try It console on each endpoint in the API Reference, which runs against the sandbox.
